Badrinath Temple Opening & Closing Dates 2024

The Badrinath Temple opens every year in the month of April/May for the devotees and closes in winter around the first week of November on 17th November. Thus, the temple is shut down for six months every year, during which prayers to the deity of Lord Vishanu continue at Narsingh Temple in Joshimath.

The dates for the opening date of Shri Kedarnath Temple are announced by the priests on the auspicious day of Maha Shivaratri. This year in 2024, Badrinath Temple opened on 12 May 2024.

Day 1

Haridwar - Srinagar/Rudraprayag .

The journey starts from Haridwar, and one can drive towards Rudraprayag by a scenic route. It is a beautiful town situated at the holy confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Reach and check into your hotel in Srinagar. Night stay at a hotel in Srinagar. Dinner at the hotel. Next morning, resume your journey to Joshimath

Day 2

Joshimath - Badrinath

Getting to Joshimath, we will explore mountainous roads and epic greenery with cloudy weather. After that, we will reach Badrinath town in Chamoli district, On arrival, check in to the hotel. Then you’re all set to go to Badrinath Temple, but first, you have to visit Tapta Kund (hot spring), take bath and then go to the temple. You can stay till evening to view a spectacular Aarti at the Badrinath mandir. Later on, back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 3

Badrinath - Haridwar.

Drive 310 Km (9 to 10 Hours)

Next morning, after having a good breakfast, you have to drive for local sightseeing to visit Vyas Gufa, Mata Murti Temple and Mana Village. In the afternoon, drive back to Haridwar and then our expert driver will drop you off at your preferred hotel or at the railway station.

2.Asthma & Heart Patients are not advised – Consult your doctor before joining.
3.Carry dark chocolates, dry fruits, Glucose (Glucon D), and toffees. This will provide you instant energy during trekking & long journeys.
4.Carry your Pooja samagri as per your requirement.

5.Do not take pictures if cameras are not allowed in temples.
6.Carry extra batteries for your camera & power banks for your cell phone.
7.Communication: Although all private mobile phones have coverage, Airtel & Jio network is better in most places.
8.Fitness: All pilgrims should be physically fit. It is better to do some jogging and other light exercises to prepare for this journey.
9.For Kedarnath, guests need to carry a small handbag for 1 day’s clothes & your necessary valuables as suitcases cannot be carried up.
10.The approximate charge for one way Doli to Yamunotri shall be Rs. 6500 per person & Kedarnath is Rs. 12,000 per person. However, it can be subject to change due to demand in the area.
11.This is a pilgrimage sector, so don’t keep high expectations in hotels except Haridwar.
